Dreamscape Learn (DSL) is a collaborative venture between Dreamscape Immersive and Arizona State University, merging the most advanced experiential pedagogy with the entertainment industry's best cinematic storytelling to deliver immersive learning experiences in virtual reality (VR), which are demonstrably efficacious, readily scalable, and emotionally engaging. These immersive experiences combine the emotional power of Hollywood storytelling, the visceral excitement of theme park rides, and an extraordinary mix of full body tracking and interactivity to create stories and worlds that push the limits of what is possible in virtual reality.
EdPlus at ASU seeks an Instructional Designer to join a team that creates innovative curricula enhanced by the immersive technologies of Dreamscape Learn. This opportunity could be an ideal fit if you possess a strong passion for creating and delivering cutting-edge educational products and solutions, encompassing virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies. Under general direction, the instructional designer will collaborate with other designers, story writers, VR developers, and subject-matter experts to design and implement engaging, interactive curricula using best practices in education.
Essential Duties
• Under the direction of a Director of Curriculum Design, the successful candidate will collaborate with other instructional designers, curriculum designers, instructional technologists, story writers, VR developers, and subject-matter experts to design and implement engaging, interactive curricula using best practices in education.
• Work closely with colleagues and unit leadership to develop, implement, evaluate, and refine learning design standards, procedures, and protocols.
• Support the design and delivery of digital course content, materials, interactive and multimedia technology-driven components, and other learning materials, consistent with established design and development processes to ensure flexibility and reusability.
• Effectively and creatively use technology to enhance and scale learning in DSL courses.
• Assists in evaluating the effectiveness of technology and adapting/implementing recommended changes in learning materials to improve learning outcomes of students.
• Develop and maintain resources for instructors, such as tutorials, reference materials, design standards, templates, and tools.
• Collect and analyze data related to online initiatives for continual improvement.
• Serve as an instructional designer on new or revised program design processes.
• Help to establish specifications for identifying or designing innovative educational software, such as adaptive or personalized learning platforms, for use in DSL courses.
• Remain aware of technology directions, initiatives, and trends to provide ideas, guidance, and recommendations.
• Assumes or coordinates other duties or projects as assigned or directed.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field AND Three (3) years of providing learning/instructional design and/or technology development services. Or, any equivalent combination of experience or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications
• Evidence of a bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
• Demonstrated knowledge of effective instructional design, pedagogical approaches, and educational technologies
• Evidence of competency with industry-leading technologies and products for developing materials for learning and instruction.
• Experience in using learning management systems.
• Experience in effective organization and time-management in an environment with multiple priorities and short deadlines.
• Evidence of effective communication skills.
• Experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
• Experience developing educational products as part of a team.

Working Environment
This position work location is Tempe Campus.
Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting or standing. Daily use of desktop or laptop computer is required. Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential duties. Regular review of completed tasks.
EdPlus at ASU supports flexible work options, ranging from alternate work schedules to hybrid remote work schedules, subject to approvals per ASU policy. (This is not a fully remote position.)
